Review

In the old days the photo retoucher worked with an array of special tools such as fine knifes, small brushes, burnishing tools and magnify glasses. Today most photographers have all those tools and many more incorporated within software right on their computer. But the problem for most photographers is how to use these computer tools effectively and efficiently. That problem can now be resolved thanks to a new informative book by Gwen Lute "Photo Retouching With Adobe Photoshop".

Gwen’s thirty years of experience in both traditional and digital retouching is well served in this outstanding guide. She gives step-by-step instructions on working with Adobe Photoshop. From getting started, inputting images, restoring and retouching techniques and outputting the final images. She shows the reader how to do amazing things with pictures that are damaged, poorly exposed, have missing elements or have to many elements. Each exercise is clearly written and well illustrated. After you have mastered all the different retouching methods, Gwen continues on to tell you how to sell and market your services as a photo retoucher. This is an excellent book on a craft we all need to appreciate.

If you want to unlock the power of Photoshop as a restoring and retouching tool, I can highly recommend "Photo Retouching With Adobe Photoshop". It’s a desktop guide that just keeps giving!
