Review
Some of the most frequent questions we get asked at our web site is about how to pose children, adults and pets. There is also a lot of interest about the dos and don’ts about group images. These are all good questions because photographers shoot people pictures more then any other type images. Natural posing and good composition are the key elements in successful people images.

That’s what caught my eye when the new book “Master Posing Guide” crossed my desk. This great new book by J.D. Wacker seemed to answer most, if not all, of the questions we had received at our web site. The book covers, in three well thought out sections, all the techniques needed from the psychology of posing, the mechanics of posing to posing in practice.

The book is full of excellent example pictures of both good and not so good poses. There is a great section on posing details such as eyes, hands, neck, feet and form. There is even a special chapter on ‘Posing Challenges’ that I found very useful. From people to pets, children to groups or working with professional models, “Master Posing Guide for Portrait Photographers” is a fantastic photographic resource.
